Real Madrid Academy
Real Madrid's academy — the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas in its formative aspect — is one of the most ambitious talent development projects in world football. The club invests tens of millions annually across its youth categories, from the youngest age groups through to Real Madrid Castilla, with the objective of producing players ready for the first team or with sufficient market value to finance external recruitment operations.
Real Madrid Castilla, the club's reserve team competing at whatever division their classification warrants (historically Segunda División B or Primera Federación), is the final formative step before the first team. Many of the club's greatest players — Míchel, Martín Vázquez, Sanchís, Hierro, Raúl, Casillas — emerged from the academy.
Madrid's academy recruitment model has evolved towards international talent at early ages. The arrivals of Arda Güler at 18 from Fenerbahçe, and Endrick at 17 from Palmeiras, represent the most modern version of this strategy: incorporating elite-projection players before their price reaches market peaks, and developing them within the white ecosystem.
Castilla players with first-team registration can be called up by Ancelotti in emergency situations or to complete squad lists for domestic competitions. This permeability between reserve team and first team is a strategic asset that few European clubs manage with the same effectiveness.
MadridFlow follows the development of La Fabrica's players with a long-term perspective: Castilla performances, first-team call-ups, statistical evolution and analysis of each individual's potential to contribute to Ancelotti's sporting project in the coming years.
